Today, within the framework of the project "They will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo", we will tell about the representative of the Uzbek national boxing team — Dilshod Ruzmetov.
Dilshod Yusupbaevich Ruzmetov was born on March 12, 1999 in Khorezm. Since 2010, he started boxing. The first coach is Ilkhom Sadullayev. Currently, he trains under the guidance of Farrukh Kilichev.
The boxer is left-handed. In 2015, at the Asian and World Junior Championships, he became a silver medalist. In 2018, he was accepted into the National Team of Uzbekistan.
Ruzmetov's mentors, highly appreciating his capabilities, included him in the list of participants of the 2019 World Championship in Yekaterinburg among adults. The young athlete fully justified the trust, winning a silver medal. Yesterday, at the Asian Championship in the UAE in the weight category -81 kg, he became the champion of the continent.
According to the results of the rating published by the special commission of the International Olympic Committee, Ruzmetov was awarded a license for the Tokyo Olympics.
