A conference was held within the framework of the "Sport for All" project
Within the framework of the "Sport for All" project, a conference on attracting people with disabilities to Paralympic sports, social support and integration into society was held at the HILTON Hotel.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, President of the Paralympic Committee of Asia Majid Rashid, Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan Mukhtorkhon Tashkhodjayev, Rector of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports Mahmud Boltaboev, experts and media representatives.
As you know, our President recently adopted a resolution "On additional measures for the development of the Paralympic movement". Within the framework of the "Sport for All" project, it is planned to hold an international festival on Paralympic sports, Republican and regional festivals, master classes of famous athletes, as well as seminars, conferences and "round tables". This conference was organized to ensure the implementation of this Resolution.
Opening the event, Aziz Abdukhakimov congratulated the guest of honor on his visit to our country and noted that Uzbekistan pays special attention to supporting people with disabilities, promotes the popularization of Paralympic sports at the state level.
In turn, Majid Rashid noted that he was very pleased with the high attention paid to the development of the Paralympic movement in our country, expressed his views on the popularization of Paralympic sports in the Asian region and wished success in the work of the conference. In particular, the guest highly appreciated the work of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the introduction of a healthy lifestyle among the population, especially the support of Paralympians both morally and financially.
Makhmud Boltaboev, Executive Director of the Asian Paralympic Committee Tarek Sowe, Deputy Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan Sharifjon Mominzhanov also spoke at the conference.
Their reports were devoted to the implementation of the tasks set, identifying people with disabilities who are interested in sports, ensuring their participation in prestigious competitions, thereby establishing a reserve training system for the national teams that will take part in the Paralympic and Para-Asian Games.
At the end of the conference, proposals and recommendations were put forward, which will be gradually implemented.
