A solemn ceremony of meeting taekwondo athletes and Paralympians was held
Last week, the Asian Championship and the traditional "Beirut Open" taekwondo tournament were held in Lebanon. In each of these competitions, 17 taekwondo athletes performed on behalf of Uzbekistan. In the continental championship, our representatives won 3 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals. This result was the best for the national team of Uzbekistan in the entire history of participation in the championships of the continent.
And in the" Beirut Open", Uzbek taekwondo athletes managed to add 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals to the delegation's piggy bank. The national team of Uzbekistan became the first in the team competition.
Tonight, the para-swimmers who participated in the competition from the World Series in Berlin, as well as the para-judoists who adequately defended the honor of the country in the Grand Prix tournament in Birmingham and taekwondo athletes who won a historic result in the continental championship arrived in the capital. A solemn meeting of all athletes was held at the capital's Islam Karimov International Airport. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the National Paralympic Association, the WT Taekwondo Association of Uzbekistan, relatives and friends of athletes, the media.
The responsible persons who participated in the event congratulated the athletes on such success and wished them good luck in the upcoming starts.
