Congratulations of the President, emotions and joy of parents: Asian boxing champions have returned home
As you know, the next Asian Boxing Championship was held in Dubai (UAE) on May 24-31. In this championship of the continent, the national team of Uzbekistan managed to win 18 medals (7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze). Today, our boxers, who adequately defended the honor of the country, have returned to their Homeland.
A solemn ceremony of welcoming boxers was held at the capital's Islam Karimov International Airport. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, the leadership of the NOC headed by Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, families and relatives of boxers, the media and the general sports community.
The delegation was met by Aziz Abdukhakimov and sincerely congratulated the boxers on their victories.
Then the participants of the event, boxers, their parents went to the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
First, the heroes of the day and their victories were marked once again. Then, Aziz Abdukhakimov read the congratulations of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which was sent to the boxers. Then the original (original) congratulations were presented to the Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan. He was received by the General Secretary of the Federation Murod Mamadaliyev.
It should be noted that the President's congratulations inspired the athletes even more. After that, the boxers — Bahodir Zhalolov and Sitora Turdibekova, who became the champions of the continent, and the senior coach of the national team Rakhmatjon Ruziokhunov, spoke, noting that they were very pleased with the attention provided by the Head of State and that they would try their best to justify the trust. Sabohat Zhalolova and Yusupbek Ruzmetov spoke on behalf of the parents of the boxers, sharing their impressions.
At the end of the event, the floor was given to the chairman of the Council of Sports Veterans of Uzbekistan, Bahodir Mahsitov.
