Murojon Kholmuradov will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo

The National Olympic Committee continues the project "They will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo". This time we will tell you about Murojon Kholmuradov, who won a license for the Tokyo Olympics in cycling (highway).

Murojon Kholmuradov was born on June 11, 1982 in the Kharezm region. Since childhood, I have loved sports. His first mentors are Mahmud Kuschanov, Ulugbek Haidarov and Omonboy Zhumanov. In 1996, he entered the Republican College of the Olympic Reserve of Tashkent.

As Kholmuradov himself notes, before cycling, he was engaged in boxing and national wrestling (kurash). However, Murojon Kholmuradov fell in love with cycling in a different way, he was very interested in this direction.

In 1999, he was accepted into the National Team of Uzbekistan. In 2010, he participated in the XIV Asian Games in Guangzhou and set 4 results.

In 2011, at the Asian Cycling Championships, he was awarded the second place and thanks to this result, he won a license for the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London.

In 2013, at the Asian Championship in New Delhi (India), he won 2 gold medals in two directions. In 2018, at the Asian Games in Indonesia, he became a silver medalist in the individual time trial. In the same year, he won the third place at the Asian Championship in Malaysia and the Asian Cup in Thailand.

Thanks to the result at the Asian Championship, which was held in April 2019 in Tashkent, he won a license for the Tokyo Olympics.
