We express our condolences to the relatives of one of the founders of the Uzbek chess school Akhmadjon Irkabayev

One of the founders of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, chess enthusiast, beloved mentor of young people, Irkabayev Akhmadjon, has died at the age of 73.

Akhmadjon Irkabayev was born on August 1, 1948 in Kokand. Higher education, studied at the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute, the Moscow Highway Institute and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

He started his career in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, then worked in responsible positions in the State Automobile Inspection of the city of Tashkent and the Inspection of the State Automobile Supervision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As Chairman of the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan (1990-1996), Irkabayev made a significant contribution to the development of this intellectual sport in our country. He is a three-time Uzbek chess champion among veterans and mentor to many young and talented chess players.

The National Olympic Committee and the Council of Sports Veterans of Uzbekistan express their deep condolences to the family members.
