The IWF Congress is being held in Tashkent
The Congress of the International Weightlifting Federation began in our capital after the World Championship among adults, which was held in high spirits. It summarizes the results of the Organization's work over the past sports season, discusses new plans.
During the event, First Deputy Chairman of the Weightlifting Federation of Uzbekistan, Vice-President of the Asian Weightlifting Federation, member of the IWF Executive Committee Shakhrillo Makhmudov also made a speech in which he noted the development of this sport and expressed his opinion about the last home World Championship.
“I would like to express my special gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for its large-scale assistance in organizing and holding the world Championship at a high level. World weightlifting is one big family. Uzbekistan is an active member of it. We always support unity on the way of development of our sport. The competitions that gave us endless excitement in Tashkent, new records, new world champions, the discovery of new talented athletes - this is a victory for all of us. I want to emphasize that we are all united in the further large-scale activities of the Executive Committee of the International Weightlifting Federation, in the development of this discipline”" Shakhrillo Mahmudov said.
