The regional forum home of the CIS, Baltic States and Georgia has started its work in Tashkent

The regional forum of leaders of NOCs of the CIS, Baltic States and Georgia has started its work in the capital's Hilton Tashkent City hotel.

On behalf of our country, the event was attended by Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbar Abduvokhidov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov, the leadership of the NOC of Uzbekistan headed by Rustam Shoabdurakhmonov, as well as responsible persons of Federations and Associations.

Aziz Abdukhakimov opened the forum and informed the guests in detail about the large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population, the attention paid by the President of our state to physical culture and sports. After that, the coordinator of the Forum, Deputy Secretary General of the Russian Olympic Committee, Head of the Department of International Relations Yuri Yuryev made a speech. Yuri Nikolaevich, representing the forum participants, spoke about the goals of the meeting this year, about the ongoing work to further strengthen mutual ties, as well as about upcoming plans.

Commenting on the event, the Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov noted:

"There are not so many sites today that unite all the countries of the post-Soviet space. There are even fewer of them where there is an atmosphere of genuine mutual understanding and partnership. Fortunately, the forum of heads of NOC refers to such formats of cooperation, and I am infinitely glad that today, after a forced break in 2020, we met in Tashkent. I sincerely hope that the dialogue will be sincere and the discussions fruitful, because ultimately everything is subordinated to a common goal - to promote the principles and ideals of Olympism in a changing world before our eyes."

The head of the NOC of Uzbekistan, Rustam Shoabdurakhmonov, made a report with his program. It touched upon the achievements of our country in the field of sports, the attention paid by the state to support the industry, the achievements of domestic athletes in the international sports arena, the first step taken to host the Asian Youth Games “Tashkent-2025" and a number of other issues, the following proposals were put forward:

-Organization of joint training of judges and referees of the international category;
- Joint training of coaches, managers, sports analysts and other specialists with the involvement of modern sports and educational methods, innovative technologies;
- Organization of joint international training camps for national teams, and then holding various tournaments and competitions;
- Exchange of experience in the development of sports medicine, in particular in improving the qualifications of sports doctors;
- Development of sports pharmacology, active development of cooperation in the development and production of non-prohibited drugs for athletes.

This proposal was approved by the forum participants and an agreement was reached on the development of a program to establish further exchange of experience between qualified personnel.

The guests of the forum, despite the fact that Tashkent is hosting this event for the first time, noted the high level of its organization.
