Abdurakhmanov became the winner of the World Championship among veterans
The World Championship in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling among veterans continues in Loutraki (Greece).
Three of our wrestlers, headed by coach Ziedulla Abdullayev, take part in the World Championship, which takes place in several age categories. Among the wrestlers are Abduzhalil Abdurakhmonov (-62 kg) and Usmonjon Yusupov (-88 kg), and among the Greco-Roman wrestlers — Sanzhar Umarkhuzhaev (-100 kg).
It is noteworthy that 56-year-old Abduzhalil Abdurakhmanov won a bronze medal among the representatives of the category over 40 years old. Abdurakhmanov defeated Gerasim Dyakonov (Russia) with a score of 5:0, Geoffrey Malta (USA) 4:0. In the semifinals, I missed a chance to the representative of Moldova Boris Savva. In the fight for bronze, he decided the fight in his favor, defeating Zhora Oganesyan from Armenia. Boris Savva took the first place in this category.
Today Usmonjon Yusupov will take to the carpet for medals. His first opponent will be Roman Saribayev from Kyrgyzstan.
