The former world champion in the heavyweight category Ruslan Chagaev turned 43 years old!

Today, one of the famous representatives of Uzbek boxing, former world champion in the heavyweight category Ruslan Chagaev celebrates his 43rd birthday.

Ruslan Shamilovich Chagaev was born on October 19, 1979 in Andijan. He started his career in amateur boxing and is a two-time Asian and world champion, winner of the Bangkok -1998 Asian Games, as well as a participant in the Sydney 2000 Olympics. In 2007, in Germany, he managed to defeat Nikolai Valuev in the heavyweight category and win the WBA belt. It should be noted that Chagaev is the first boxer of the Asian continent who managed to win such a title in the heavyweight division. For his merits and successes, the Government of the country awarded the orders "Buyuk hizmatlari uchun", "El-yurt Khurmati" and honorary titles "Uzbekistan Iftikhori", "Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
