Tashkent-2025: The process of building sports facilities for the Asian Games was discussed
Tashkent will host the IV Asian Youth Games in May 2025. Currently, preparations are underway for competitions in which the strongest young athletes of the continent will take part.
Today, the leadership of the NOC held a meeting during which new facilities that will be built for competitions and sports that will be included in the program were discussed. The event was attended by the head of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov and his first deputy Ravshan Irmatov, Secretary General of the Committee, Director of the Directorate "tAshkent-2025" Oybek Kasymov, Deputy Chairman of the NOC Sherzod Tashmatov and the Committee's specialists in this area.
During the meeting, Oybek Kassymov gave detailed information about the area allocated for sports facilities in the Olympic Village, which is planned to be built in the Kibrai district, and the current state of the sports included in the program. Afterwards, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov expressed his opinion on strengthening the preparatory process.
"The upcoming competition will be a real celebration of sports for our compatriots. We must organize it at the proper level and show the whole world the power of the New Uzbekistan, which is being created by our Esteemed President. After the Asian Games, the constructed facilities should promote the promotion of sports in the country. The government fully supports us and based on this, we need to create appropriate projects," the head of the NOC said.
During the meeting, instructions were given to fully coordinate the final list of facilities with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Ministry of Construction and the city's Khokimiyat, as well as to coordinate the list of sports that will be included in the program with sports federations and associations. It should be noted that new sports facilities will be built for cycling, water sports, field hockey and a number of other areas.
Currently, it is planned to include more than 20 sports in the program of the Asian Games "tAshkent-2025". According to the regulations, the competitions must take place in a period of at least 5 and no more than 10 days.
