Elections of the leadership of the Football Association of Uzbekistan have been held
Today, the next reporting and election congress of the Football Association of Uzbekistan took place in the meeting room of the NOC. Elections of the organization's leadership were also held there.
The event was attended by Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdujabbor Abduvokhidov, Chairman of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the FAA Abdusalom Azizov, Chairman of the NOC Rustam Shoabdurakhmanov, First Deputy Chairman of the NOC Ravshan Irmatov, Secretary General of the Committee Oibek Kasimov, Deputy Chairman of the NOC Saken Polatov, responsible persons of the association and representatives of the structural unit, coaches.
First, FAA Secretary General Avaz Maksumov reported on the activities of the organization and familiarized everyone with the agenda. Following the results of the elections to the leadership of the FAA, significant for many, Abdusalom Azizov and Ravshan Irmatov were re-elected to their posts. Azizbek Ikramov was also elected to the position of Vice-president of the FAA.
“First of all, I would like to thank everyone for expressing their high confidence and electing me for another 4 years. For the last period we have been working on the development of our football with the help of the AFC and FIFA. But the fact that our national team was unable to reach the World Cup showed that there are shortcomings in our work. Our task is to perform at the Olympics in Paris. The coaching staff headed by Srechko Katants is also tasked with reaching the 2026 World Cup. In addition, it is necessary to raise the level of the national championship, to relieve tension around the teams”" Abdusalom Azizov said.
During the event, 9 representatives were also elected to the Executive Committee of the Association. With this, the next reporting and election congress of the FAA completed its work.
