There is a solution to important problems

As we previously reported, meetings are currently being held in the NOC in order to analyze the participation of our national teams at the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games and consider plans for the future. One of these events was held today with the participation of the Gymnastics Federation of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, acting head of the Gymnastics Federation of Uzbekistan Ruslan Mustaev and the Secretary General of the Federation Gezal Filippova, Director of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports at UzGUFKS, Professor Rashid Matkarimov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Sports of Uzbekistan Bahodir Mahsitov, Director of the RSVSM gymnastics Aziz Umaraliev, representatives of the federation and coaches.

Ruslan Mustaev demonstrated a presentation on the work done within the Tokyo-2020 cycle, costs and participation in the Olympics. The main issue raised at the meeting is the lack of a basic base for the training of our gymnasts. Because now the Gymnastics Palace is providing medical assistance, our compatriots suffering from coronavirus and pneumonia are being treated here.

Next year, the Hangzhou-2022 Asian Games will start on this day, and three years later, the Paris-2024 Olympic Games. Athletes need to start training as soon as possible in order to form a team that will adequately participate in these complex competitions.

"There are big problems in rhythmic gymnastics now. Gold medals are expected in this form at the Asian Games. Our girls who took part in the Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games announced that they were retiring from big-time sports. If we don't have a base, we won't have time to educate a new generation, from which champions will grow up," Ruslan Mustayev said.

In turn, the head of the NOC made a proposal to send our athletes to international training centers to conduct temporary classes abroad.

"The head of our state has always tried to create the best conditions for our athletes. It will continue to be so. In this situation, there is a proposal: we will send the newly formed team to the rhythmic gymnastics base in Moscow, where our girls previously trained. I think it will be of great benefit to them. If you have other proposals, we are ready to consider them," the head of the NOC noted.

Representatives of the federation supported this proposal. The meeting also discussed the issues of attracting foreign specialists in all areas and the full development of a strategy for preparing for the new Olympic cycle.
