Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games: Uzbekistan took the 16th place in the team competition
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, which were watched by the whole world, have come to an end. It should be noted that the national team of Uzbekistan retained its place in the team competition, which it took in Rio 2016.
For this Paralympic Games, our delegation won 55 licenses with 48 athletes. As a result, the national team of Uzbekistan managed to win 19 medals (8 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze). And this ensured that we took the 16th place in the team competition among 162 delegations. With this indicator, we became the fourth among the national teams of Asia (after China, Japan and Iran) and the CIS countries (after Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan), the first in Central Asia and the Turkic-speaking countries. It should be noted that at the previous Paralympics in Rio, we took the 16th place with 8 gold medals.
Now the closing ceremony of the Paralympics is taking place at the Olympia Stadium in Tokyo. The delegation of Uzbekistan will return to Tashkent tomorrow.
