An international fencing conference has started in Tashkent
Today, a joint conference of the Asian, Pan-American and African fencing confederations is being held in the capital. The event is attended by the heads of these organizations and more than 30 national federations that are their members.
The theme of the conference is " Innovative methods of fencing development in Asia and other continents” and during it, participants exchange valuable information about the new methodology of development recently, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Today's event was opened by the chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov. During his speech, the head of the Committee noted that our Distinguished President pays special attention to the sports sphere and as a result, all sports, in particular fencing, are developing.
Then the president of the Pan-American Fencing Confederation Vitaly Logvin, the president of the African Fencing Confederation Mbagnik Ndiaye, the acting President of the Asian Fencing Confederation Rusni Abu Hassan, as well as the responsible persons of these organizations showed their presentations. The speakers told about the development of fencing, local projects that are being implemented for this purpose, as well as seminars and trainings, plans for the future.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for fully supporting the further development of fencing. In April, when the epidemiological situation became more complicated, it was on the initiative of this country that the Tokyo 2020 license tournament for the Asian continent was held. All this testifies to the attention paid by the President — Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In turn, Uzbek fencers achieve high results in the international arena, " Vitaly Logvin said.
During the event, Secretary General of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan Gulnora Saidova made a report on the activities of the International Academy of Coaches, which will open in Tashkent.
The conference will last until the end of the day. During it, about 10 topics will be discussed, in particular, the prospects of fencing, new innovative directions, including the creation of an interactive Olympic encyclopedia for schoolchildren, the use of new technologies in major competitions.
