Representatives of three continents in the capital
An international fencing conference will be held in Tashkent tomorrow with the participation of the leaders of the confederations of Asia, Pan-America and Africa. Today, the participants of the event visited the NOC.
The guests of honor were met by the chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov and his deputy Sherzod Tashmatov. First, an excursion was organized for them, they received valuable information about the glorious history of Uzbek sports and about the attention paid by the President to the development of this sphere. Then a number of promising issues were discussed in the conference hall.
It should be noted that the delegation includes the president of the Pan-American Fencing Confederation Vitaly Logvin, the president of the African Fencing Confederation Mbagnik Ndiaye, the acting president of the Asian Fencing Confederation Rusni Abu Hassan, as well as the heads of the fencing federations of Egypt, the UAE and Jordan.
During the conversation, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov spoke about the development of Uzbek fencing from year to year, achievements in this direction and the support of our state.
"We are very pleased to welcome you to the capital. Thanks to the attention paid by the Head of State to the field of sports, we managed to achieve such success. In particular, we won 3 licenses for the Tokyo Olympics for the first time. Among them, our 18-year-old saber player entered the top eight. All major international events that are held in Tashkent are organized thanks to the support of our Esteemed President. And our main goal is to strengthen the promotion of sports in the country, " said Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov.
During the event, representatives of the UAE and Egypt proposed to sign a memorandum to bring the development of cooperation to a new level and share the latest achievements. A number of issues related to the prospects of fencing were also discussed in detail.
At the end of the event, the guests were presented with memorable gifts of the NOC.
In the afternoon, the guests visited the Center of Islamic Civilization (CIC), which is being built in Tashkent. During the visit, they examined the construction works that are being carried out in one of the largest structures in the Islamic world.
