Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov: "The state award inspires athletes and coaches even more"
As you know, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented high state awards to athletes, coaches, doctors and officials who successfully participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Among the awardees was the coach and brother of the bronze medalist of Tokyo 2020 in freestyle wrestling Bekzod Abdurakhmanov-Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov. By presidential decree, he was awarded the honorary title "Uzbekiston Republikasida hizmat kyrsatgan sport ustozi".
"First of all, I want to express my great gratitude to our President Shavkat Miromonovich on behalf of the family of sports wrestlers for the attention paid to athletes and coaches. Our achievements were highly appreciated, such attention is very motivating and inspires athletes and coaches, encourages them to new victories. To be honest, Bekzod and I wanted to win a gold medal in Tokyo. But this is a sport, there are also unexpected moments. Especially, the Olympic Games are very different from other competitions. I hope that at the Olympics in Paris we will be able to realize our dream. We will try very hard. Training has already begun, the World Cup and the Asian Games are waiting for us next year. In these competitions, we will go to the carpet only for the title of champion, " Muzaffar Abdurakhmanov said.
