Opening ceremony of the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships held
As previously reported, the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championships began today in the capital. A short while ago, the opening ceremony of the competition was held at the New Uzbekistan Olympic Town.
The ceremony was attended by Odil Abdurahmonov, the representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for sports, as well as representatives of the International and Asian Weightlifting Federations, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the NOC and the Uzbekistan Weightlifting Federation. They noted that the competition is being held at a high level and that weightlifting is developing year by year in our country.
Following the ceremony, the next weight categories in the evening programme took place. As a reminder, more than 300 athletes from 29 countries of the continent are competing at these championships.
