The leaders of the NOC of Uzbekistan met with the responsible person for conducting boxing competitions at the Tokyo Olympics — Morinari Watanabe
Currently, the results of the boxing competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are widely discussed.
It is known that the organization of boxing competitions at these Olympic Games is entrusted not to the International Boxing Association( AIBA), but to a special commission created by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The Commission is headed by the President of the International Gymnastics Federation Morinari Watanabe from Japan.
During the Olympics, the delegations of some countries expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing of boxing competitions. In particular, the chairman of the NOC of Uzbekistan, Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, and the Secretary General of the Committee, Oibek Kassymov, held a meeting with Morinari Watanabe to clarify the situation.
During the meeting, the special commission informed the leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan about its activities. According to international experts, in addition to 5 judges, two special representatives monitor their decision at each competition. The results of the battles are not reviewed.
International representatives stressed that cases that arouse suspicion are analyzed separately. Judges who perform their duties unprofessionally are suspended from the Olympics and return home.
