The international “Flemish Open” fencing tournament concluded in Ghent, Belgium. On the second competition day, Uzbekistan’s Musa Aimuratov delivered a flawless performance, defeating opponents from Spain, Austria, Ukraine, France, and Germany to claim the gold medal in the men’s sabre event.

Uzbekistan’s Judokas Win Four Medals in Prague
The “Prague European Open” judo tournament wrapped up in the Czech capital, with Uzbekistan’s national team securing four medals: one gold and three bronze. Zamokhshari Bekmurodov (-73 kg) stood on top of the podium, while Shukurjon Aminova (-57 kg), Iriskhon Kurbonboeva (+78 kg), and Muzaffarbek Turaboev (+100 kg) each earned bronze medals.

Italy Clinches Men’s Volleyball World Title
The Men’s Volleyball World Championship concluded in the Philippines with Italy defeating Bulgaria 3–1 in the final. With this victory, Italy once again confirmed its dominance in the sport, winning both the men’s and women’s world championships this year.

3rd CIS Games Kick Off in Azerbaijan

The city of Ganja hosted the official opening ceremony of the 3rd CIS Games, with Azerbaijan serving as the host nation. The competitions will run until October 8.

Uzbekistan’s delegation is taking part in 23 sports, represented by 254 athletes.
