Our boxers given a hero’s welcome in Tashkent
Early this morning, the Uzbekistan national boxing team returned to the capital after their successful performance at the World Championships in Liverpool, England. The heroes of the tournament were solemnly welcomed by the leadership of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, as well as the athletes’ families and loved ones.
It should be recalled that at this World Championships, the Uzbekistan national team won 6 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals and took second place in the overall team standings.
