These days, competitions in Taekwondo WT for the Ambassador’s Cup of the Republic of Korea are taking place in our capital. Today, a solemn opening ceremony of the tournament was held.

The event, held at the “Universal” Sports Complex, was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Won Do Yeon, Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, Deputy Chairman of the NOC and Chairman of the Taekwondo WT Association of Uzbekistan Sherzod Tashmatov.

Speaking at the ceremony, officials emphasized that the development of this sport in our country is reaching a new stage, that Uzbek athletes are demonstrating high results on the international stage, and that such tournaments serve as an additional incentive for strengthening friendly relations between the two states. In addition, they congratulated all participants on the World Taekwondo Day, which is celebrated on September 4, and expressed their warm wishes to them.
