The leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan Football Association are on a working visit to Manchester (England). During the trip, issues of cooperation with the holding company City Football Group and the football club Manchester City were considered.

As part of the visit, the Uzbek side’s officials discussed promising projects with the Chief Operating Officer of the holding Roel de Vries, Managing Director Danny Wilson, Director of Football Business Clive Reeves, and other top managers. The main attention was paid to bringing Uzbek football to a new level. In particular, such areas as the introduction of innovative approaches into the system, the creation of a modern academy, the development of club infrastructure, and the application of international experience were considered.

In turn, company representatives emphasized that the qualification of the national team of Uzbekistan for the World Cup testifies to the high level of development of football in our country, and after the transfer of defender of the national team of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Khusanov, interest in Uzbek football has noticeably increased.

Also, one of the key topics of the negotiations was the prospect of integrating one of Uzbekistan’s clubs into the City Football Group system. During the visit, officials will also become acquainted with the academy of Manchester City and the team training system.
