Yesterday, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited one of the largest construction projects of the capital — the Olympic Village — and familiarized himself with the modern sports facilities erected there.

Today, a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State, which were outlined during this visit, was held. The meeting was chaired by the Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the issues of sport, Odil Abdurakhmanov with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, and representatives of sports federations and the Chinese company SAMSE, which is responsible for the construction of the complex.

During the discussion, attention was paid to the issues of effective use of the opportunities of the Olympic Village for bringing Uzbek sport to a new level, organizing prestigious international competitions, holding training camps with the participation of leading countries of the world for national teams in preparation for the Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026 and the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028, as well as accommodating organizations moving to the village.

As a result of the meeting, specific measures were identified for the effective implementation of the assigned tasks, the full use of sports infrastructure, and bringing the preparation of national teams to a new level.
