World Junior Wrestling Championships Conclude in Greece

The World Junior Wrestling Championships (U17) have come to an end in Athens, Greece. On the final day of competition, Uzbekistan’s freestyle wrestlers claimed two medals: Ulugbek Rashidov (- 51 kg) won silver, while Mirjalol Mukammilov (- 45 kg) secured bronze. Overall, Team Uzbekistan earned 5 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

Uzbek Athletes Shine at International Athletics Tournament in Kazakhstan

Almaty, Kazakhstan, hosted an international athletics tournament included in the World Athletics competition calendar. Athletes from 14 countries took part. Represented by its main squad, Team Uzbekistan achieved remarkable results, winning 7 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals.

World Aquatics Championships Held in Singapore

The World Aquatics Championships concluded in Singapore, with athletes from over 200 nations competing. China topped the overall medal table with 15 gold, 12 silver, and 10 bronze medals. Australia (13–7–8) and the USA (10–11–11) completed the top three.

Candidate Announced for Presidency of the Olympic Council of Asia

As reported earlier, on 26 January next year, Tashkent will host the General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). One of the key agenda items will be the election of a new OCA President. According to Insidethegames, the sole candidate for this position is Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, First Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee.
