Uzbek student-athletes finish 13th at the Universiade
The World Summer Universiade has concluded in Germany. As previously reported, Team Uzbekistan earned 4 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals. This result placed our team 13th in the overall medal standings, 5th among Asian nations, and 1st among Central Asian countries.
Young canoe and kayak athletes win three medals at World Championships
The Canoe Sprint World Championships for U18 and U23 athletes wrapped up in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal. On the final day, M. Komilov and Sh. Sherzodova (U23) earned silver in the mixed 5000m race. A bronze medal was also secured by the U23 women’s quartet - D. Rafikova, Z. Kazakova, Sh. Sherzodova, and Kh. Erkinova - in the 500m event. In total, Team Uzbekistan finished the championship with 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.
Young taekwondo athletes make strong start at Asian Championships
The WT Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships have begun in Kuching, Malaysia. The first day was successful for Team Uzbekistan, with our athletes winning two gold and two bronze medals. Nikita Bibikov (-65 kg) and Raikhona Asanboeva (-41 kg) claimed gold, while Amir Saliev (-41 kg) and Shahzoda Kamolova (+59 kg) earned bronze.
