Ministry of Sports Holds Extended Board Meeting to Review Half-Year Results
An extended board meeting of the Ministry of Sports was held today to review the outcomes of the first half of the year and outline key priorities for the upcoming period.
The meeting was attended by Odil Abdurakhmanov, Director of the Department under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with senior officials from the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, and representatives of various sports federations and associations.
During the session, Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the NOC, emphasized the importance of comprehensive and high-quality preparation for Uzbekistan’s athletes ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Additionally, Sherzod Toshmatov, Deputy Chairman of the NOC, presented the outcomes of the regional stage of the national sports initiative "Olympic Heights of New Uzbekistan."
The agenda also included detailed discussions on the preparation of national teams for upcoming major international multi-sport events in 2025, along with other pressing issues in the country’s sports development strategy.
