Sports Officials Visit “Yangiyobod” Training Base: Familiarization with Infrastructure and National Teams’ Training Process

The men’s and women’s national boxing teams of Uzbekistan are currently holding their training camp in the city of Angren, Tashkent region. As part of this, senior representatives from the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee visited the "Yangiyobod" training base to observe the training sessions and assess the conditions provided for the athletes.

During the visit, officials met with the coaching staff to discuss the preparation plans, the current form of national team members, and key competitions scheduled for this year. Saken Polatov, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, delivered a detailed briefing on the ongoing camp. The officials also held individual conversations with the boxers to assess their psychological and physical readiness.

Interestingly, the Ukrainian men’s and women’s national boxing teams are also training at the same venue in full squad. The officials engaged with the visiting athletes, exchanged views on their preparation process, and discussed the facilities available at the base.

As part of the visit, two-time Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov was congratulated on his 32nd birthday, with warm wishes for continued health and future success. The discussion also included plans for the construction of an additional modern training hall.

At the conclusion of the visit, specific instructions were given to responsible personnel to address current shortcomings, enhance the infrastructure, and further improve the overall training effectiveness.
