Daily Digest: Uzbekistan Shines Across Multiple International Competitions

Pattaya, Thailand – The Asian Canoe Sprint Championships for U18 and U23 athletes concluded with a dominant performance from Team Uzbekistan. Our paddlers claimed an impressive 34 medals, including 17 gold, 11 silver, and 6 bronze, securing first place in the overall team standings in both age categories.

Innsbruck, Austria – At the WT Taekwondo “Austrian Open” international tournament, Uzbekistan’s national team, led by head coach Pavel Khan, achieved remarkable success, earning 13 medals: 5 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze. This outstanding result placed the team at the top of the overall medal table.

Budapest, Hungary – The fourth day of the World Judo Championships gets underway today, with Uzbekistan represented by Arslonbek Tojiev (–81 kg) and Marjona Nurullaeva (–63 kg). All eyes will be on their performances as they look to bring home medals.

United States – The FIFA Club World Cup has officially kicked off. Representing Uzbekistan, national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov is part of the English club Manchester City squad. The reigning European champions will play their opening match on June 18 against Moroccan side Wydad AC.
