Today marks the 72nd birthday of Sobir Ruziev — silver medalist of the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympic Games in fencing, a two-time world champion, as well as a silver and bronze medalist at World Championships. Ruziev is also the former President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and a recipient of the honorary title “Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
