Today, the official launch of the large-scale sports competitions “Paralympics of Five Initiatives” was held at the National Paralympic Committee. These inclusive events are set to take place across local neighborhoods (mahallas), engaging people with disabilities in a wide range of sporting activities.

The ceremony brought together key officials from the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, the National Agency for Social Protection, and the Youth Affairs Agency. In their remarks, speakers emphasized that, on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, broad opportunities are being created to promote sports for all segments of the population, with special attention given to individuals with disabilities. It was noted that extensive work is underway to ensure comprehensive support for these citizens.

According to the outlined plan, the “Paralympics of Five Initiatives” will feature 13 different sports. Public interest in the competitions is remarkably high — to date, the organizing committee has received more than 79,000 applications, with women accounting for 43% of the submissions.
