"They will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo": the first Uzbek athlete who became a medalist of the World Weightlifting Championships — Muattar Nabiyeva

We continue the project "They will defend the honor of the country in Tokyo". Today we will introduce you to the medalist of the World Weightlifting Championship Muattar Nabieva.

Nabieva Muattar Abdullayevna was born on June 2, 1996 in the Andijan region. The first coach is Homitkul Madazimov. Since 2014, she has been a representative of the Uzbekistan national weightlifting team.

She achieved her first success in the international arena in 2016. In the World Youth Championship in Tbilisi, she managed to win bronze. In 2017, at the Islamic Solidarity Games, she became a bronze medalist, and at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, she was awarded silver.

In 2018, she won a bronze medal in the continental championship. Also, at the 2019 World Championship among adults, she won bronze in the snatch exercise. It should be noted that thanks to this victory, Nabiyeva became the first prize-winner among Uzbek female weightlifters at the World Adult Championship.

Last year, at the Asian Championship in Tashkent, she took third place. According to the results of the rating of the International Weightlifting Federation, she was awarded a license for the Tokyo Olympics.
