Tokyo-2020: changes in the composition of the delegation of Uzbekistan

A few days ago, we announced the members of the delegation of Uzbekistan who will take part in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. There has been a slight change in the composition of our delegation.

Earlier, according to the rating of the International Swimming Federation, Khurshijon Tursunov (100 meters, freestyle) and Yulduz Kuchkarova (100 meters, breaststroke) were awarded a license for Tokyo 2020. However, due to the fact that Kuchkarova has not taken part in the training camps of the team for a long time and is currently in the United States, it became known that she will not be able to take part in Tokyo 2020. Natalia Kritinina (50 meters, freestyle) will perform instead of her.

This change was confirmed by the International Swimming Federation and the Tokyo 2020 license will be awarded to Kritinina. Thus, the delegation of Uzbekistan won 71 licenses in 17 sports. It should be noted that the number of athletes is 67, and 30 of them are women. This is 45% of the entire delegation. It should be noted that in Tokyo 2020 we will set an absolute record for the number of participants in the Olympic Games.

Of course, all this is due to the attention paid by our Esteemed President to the development of women's sports. In addition, it is an expression of the policy of gender equality put forward by the International Olympic Committee, using the example of our country.
