Andrey Khakimovich was born on June 30, 1966. Champion of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona in athletics (hammer throw).
Two-time world champion (1993 and 1995). Silver medalist of the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok. Asian Champion in 1998 in Fukuoka. Honored Master of Sports, he finished his sports career in 2000.
Currently, he is the chairman of the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation and Vice-president of the Asian Athletics Association. This year he was awarded the medal "Sodik hizmatlari uchun".
