Two of our Tokyo 2020 licensees won the international tournament
The international free-style wrestling tournament in memory of Ali Aliyev was held in the city of Kaspiysk (Russia). It is noteworthy that two of our representatives won this tournament.
Zhavrail Shapiyev (-86 kg) and Magomed Ibragimov (-97 kg) participated in the competition on behalf of Uzbekistan. In the fight for the gold medal, Shapiyev defeated Magomedsharif Biyakeev from Dagestan. The eyes of the audience were directed to the final in the weight category -97 kg. In this fight, our representative Magomed Ibragimov had to compete with the winner of Rio 2016, three-time world champion Abdulrashid Sadullayev (Russia). However, Sadullayev did not come out on the carpet. Thus, Ibragimov became the gold medalist of the tournament.
Thanks to this victory, our licensees proved that they are at the peak of their athletic form before the start of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
