What chances do we have for the 2022 Olympics in Beijing?
The next Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing in February 2022. The leadership of the NOC discussed with the responsible persons of the Association of Winter Sports of Uzbekistan questions about winning licenses for the Olympic Games and increasing the popularization of winter sports. The meeting was attended by the first Deputy chairman of the NOC Ravshan Irmatov, the Secretary General of the organization Oybek Kassymov, the responsible persons of the Winter Sports Association headed by Iskanderem Shadiyev.
It should be noted that the qualifying cycle for the Olympic Games in Beijing continues. The final licenses for several sports will be awarded in the fall. Taking into account this fact, our athletes have the opportunity to be awarded a permit in alpine skiing. During the conversation, it was stressed that our skiers will participate in all competitions to win licenses with the support of our state. Representatives of the NOC said that they are ready to provide the necessary assistance in this matter.
The meeting also discussed the further popularization of winter sports, strengthening the existing infrastructure for them, and their promotion among young people. The officials stressed that it is necessary to do practical work in order to increase the number of licenses for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
