Tokyo 2020: the organizing committee held an online briefing on the updated version of the manual for the participants of the Olympiad

The International Olympic Committee, together with the Organizing Committee of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, held an online briefing on the updated version of the manual for delegates, athletes and coaches.

The briefing was attended by the Secretary General of the NOC Oibek Kassymov and representatives of the federations and associations of Uzbekistan for Olympic sports.

During the briefing, issues related to the need to prepare an "Action Plan during your stay in Tokyo" before flying to Japan were discussed, which includes departure from Uzbekistan and arrival in Japan, permission to visit certain places, as well as which transports can be used and other important points. It should be noted that the organizing committee has established some rules that must be observed:
- Athletes, as well as all persons in contact with them, are required to undergo daily testing for COVID-19;
- Participants of the tournament, including officials and media representatives, are prohibited from using public transport
and visiting public catering establishments;
— According to the requirements, you must always wear a mask;
- It is forbidden to be in close contact with a person without a mask, for more than 15 minutes, at a distance of at least 2 meters;
— All athletes, 96 hours before departure to Tokyo, are required to be tested twice for the presence of COVID-19. At the same time, the second test must be passed within 72 hours before arrival in Tokyo. It is worth noting that upon arrival in Japan, athletes must pass another test;
— It should be noted that the results of PCR tests, which are taken daily from the delegates, will not be valid
when presented at the airport during departure;
— Each member of the delegation should have a smartphone with him, install the SOSOA program in it, which will contain information about human health and update this information daily (about the state of his health);
— In accordance with the requirements of Tokyo 2020, it is necessary to appoint a responsible person for COVID-19 issues, in connection with which the RNCSM employees were involved. According to the rules, the above-mentioned persons will be in constant close contact with the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the Japanese health authorities and, if necessary, with the IOC;
— According to the rules of the Organizing Committee, athletes who have completed their competitions and their coaches must leave the Olympic Village within 48 hours after the competition.

Also, the IOC stressed that the delegates do not have to be vaccinated, but recommended that the delegates still get a drug against the coronavirus. However, all the rules set out in the manual will apply, regardless of whether the delegates received the vaccination or not. In addition, representatives of the Organizing Committee noted that some measures will be taken to avoid large queues in the main dining room. In particular, the menu will be available in the smartphone app.
