The Extraordinary General Assembly of the National Paralympic Association of Uzbekistan was held

An extraordinary General Assembly of the National Paralympic Association of Uzbekistan was held today at the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. It was attended by the management and specialists of the Association, heads of regional departments, head coaches, representatives of the national team and the media.

The first issue included in the agenda of the Assembly was the creation of the necessary conditions for young people with disabilities to play sports through the further development of the Paralympic Movement in Uzbekistan, consideration of the activities of the National Paralympic Association, as well as preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Sharifjon Mominjanov, Deputy Chairman of the Association, spoke on the above-mentioned issues.

 

Thanks to the help and support of our Esteemed President, a lot of work is being done to attract people with disabilities to sports and thus, assistance is being provided to strengthen their health. Today, in Uzbekistan, as well as in the whole world, there is a difficult epidemiological situation. But despite this, our para-athletes conduct training camps, observing all safety rules. In particular, over the past time, we have managed to organize more than 20 master classes, 21 medical seminars online, as well as 12 Republican competitions and other events. Thanks to these efforts, the results of our para-athletes in the international arena are improving even more, " Sh.Mominjanov.

It should be noted that the deputy chairman of the NPA also spoke about the preparations for the Paris-2024 Paralympic Games. It was noted that the geography of the Paralympic sports will expand and it is planned to win licenses for such sports as para-cycling, para-fencing, para-badminton, para-table tennis. Also, Sh. Mominjanov said that it is planned to create a team in the direction of alpine skiing and take part in the Winter Paralympic Games.

 

Then, the employees of the sports department and the chief accountant of the NPA gave a report on their work.

Further, decisions were made in accordance with the remaining issues on the agenda. At the end of the Assembly, several specialists of the Association shared their opinions.

The National Paralympic Association also instructed the relevant persons to further develop Paralympic sports in the country and to create regional branches in those areas that do not have them, to strengthen preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the Hangzhou 2022 Para-Asian Games. In addition, according to the agenda, the composition of the Executive Committee and the Audit Commission of the Association has been updated.
