The Judo Federation of Uzbekistan establishes close cooperation with universities of the country
Recently, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the comprehensive preparation of athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXIII Summer Olympic and XVII Paralympic Games held in Paris (France) in 2024” was published.
The document provides for such items as radical improvement of the sports education system, creation of a reserve of athletes with high results in sports included in the Olympic and Paralympic Games program, a significant increase in the number of licenses, improvement of sports management and audit, bringing each link in line with international standards, strengthening the material and technical base of sports bases and facilities, construction of new sports facilities that meet modern standards, their targeted and effective use. The Judo Federation of Uzbekistan has started their practical implementation.
Today, at an event organized in the Federation, the first step in this direction was taken. The Judo Federation of Uzbekistan has signed a memorandum of understanding with Tashkent State University of Economics, which recently celebrated its 90th anniversary, and the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports.
The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan Azizjon Kamilov, Rector of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports Mahmudjon Boltaev, Rector of the Tashkent State University of Economics Kongratbai Sharipov, judo veterans, teachers and coaches, as well as members of the National team of the country. The parties agreed to cooperate on the organization of TCB, further improvement of this discipline on the basis of scientific and methodological developments and innovative technologies.
According to the memorandum, a judo hall will be built on the territory of the universities. The Federation will be responsible for organizing training sessions, providing qualified coaches, conducting master classes with the participation of our famous judoists, holding meetings with students. In turn, universities will provide preferential training for our martial artists who performed effectively at international competitions in these higher educational institutions.
In different years, such athletes as Armen Bagdasarov, Andrey Shturbabin, Abdulla Tangriev, Rishod Sobirov, Farkhod Turaev, Kamol Murodov, Ramziddin Saidov, Sharofiddin Lutfullaev, Hikmatulla Turaev, Shokir Muminov, Yakhe Imamov, Navruz Jurakobilov, who glorified our country all over the world, studied at the above-mentioned universities. Today, the head coach of the national team Ilias Iliadis, Diera Keldierova, Muzaffarbek Turabayev, Mukhriddin Tilov and other judoists continue their education in parallel with sports activities.
We hope and believe that bilateral cooperation will serve the development of our country's sports, in particular judo. At the end of the event, the parties exchanged souvenirs. Rector of Tashkent State University of Economics Kongratbai Sharipov awarded the badge of the chairman of the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan Azizjon Kamilov in connection with the 90th anniversary of the founding of the university.
