Aziz Abdukhakimov talked to the participant of Beijing-2022 and wished him good luck

As you know, Komiljon Tukhtayev, a member of the Uzbekistan national ski racing team, will take part in the XXIV Winter Olympic Games, which will be held from February 4 to 20, 2022 in Beijing. Our compatriot will perform at competitions in alpine skiing in the following directions: slalom and giant slalom.

On January 6 of this year, Komiljon went to Italy to participate in the final stage of the TCB. These days K.Tukhtaev trains under the guidance of Italian coach Mattia Ganessi in the village of Manguelfo near the Italian city of Brunico.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov held an online video call with our athlete.

First, the Minister asked about the athlete's health and the process of preparation for the upcoming important competitions, as well as the conditions created. Also, wishing Komiljon Tukhtayev good luck at the upcoming Winter Olympics, he noted that the President, his relatives, as well as multimillion compatriots are behind him first of all, and noted that everyone expects good results from him.

"On behalf of the President and our people, we wish you good luck in the upcoming competitions. In fact, winning a ticket to the Winter Olympic Games, defending the honor of Uzbekistan at these major prestigious quadrennial starts is already a great success. Nevertheless, if you present an Olympic medal to our country, we will meet and reward you with the same celebrations as the winners of the Summer Olympic Games. Most importantly, you would make a worthy contribution to the popularization of winter sports in Uzbekistan by taking a worthy part in Beijing 2022. We wish you good luck and victories in the upcoming competitions," Aziz Abdukhakimov said via video link.

In turn, Komiljon Tukhtayev also noted that, first of all, he feels the constant support from the esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the National Olympic Committee, the Ski Federation of Uzbekistan. He said that in recent years special attention has been paid in our country to the further popularization and development of winter sports, and as an athlete he is very happy about this.

At the end of the video call, K. Tukhtayev promised to make every effort to please our country and the multimillion army of Uzbek sports fans.
