The preparation of Uzbek athletes for the Beijing-2022 Winter Olympic Games is in full swing

The XIV Winter Olympic Games will start on February 4, 2022. The entire world community is preparing for these main competitions of the calendar plan of the International Olympic Committee of the coming year, including the athletes of Uzbekistan, whose task is to win the coveted tickets to the Beijing 2022 Games.

It should be noted that these days qualification competitions are held in Russia (Abzakovo and Magnitogorsk ski centers). At the end of December, they will be held in Iran. Our athletes compete in two types - slalom and giant slalom.

The main contenders for winning tickets to the Beijing 2022 Games from the Uzbekistan Ski Federation are Kamiljon Tukhtaev and Valeria Kovaleva. Arman Gayupov and Raimkulova are early understudies and are trying to gain qualification points and experience. It is important to note that according to the rating of the International Ski Federation, Kamiljon Tukhtayev is already on the list of athletes who have won a license for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games, and official confirmation from the International Ski Federation is expected today, which will be published on the IOC website on January 17, 2022. Recall that Uzbekistan has only two quotas for participation in the ZOI and currently the fight is for the second, female, quota. In accordance with the operational plan prepared by the Ski Federation of Uzbekistan and approved by the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan, our athletes conduct TCB in Europe, Russia and Iran. Despite all the difficulties associated with the pandemic, the organizers of the program have met all the necessary safety conditions and created opportunities for our compatriots to join the ranks of participants in one of the main competitions of the fourth anniversary.

It should be noted that our athletes take part in skiing competitions in the disciplines: "Slalom" and "Giant Slalom".
