A world record has been set in running in the age category over 105 years

In the USA, a tournament was held in the state of Louisiana, in which American Julia Hawkins, nicknamed "Hurricane", set a new world record in the 100-meter run at the age of 105. The woman was invited to participate in the National Games in Fort Lauderdale, which will be held in May 2022.

Hawkins began competing in running competitions when she turned 100. Before that, she was engaged in cycling. In 2017, she set a world record in the 100-104 age group when she ran 100 meters in 40.12 seconds. In 2019, she covered the 100-meter distance in 46.07 seconds. As the American admitted, she does not run every day, but tries to stay active and walk about one mile (1.6 kilometers) every day.
