A business meeting with foreign experts took place within the framework of the World Championship
President of the International Sambo Federation Vasily Shestakov and President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov visited our country as honorary guests of the World Sambo Championship held in Tashkent. Today, both guests met with the top officials of Uzbek sports at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and his deputy Avaz Karimov, Chairman of the NOC of Uzbekistan Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov and Secretary General of the Committee Oybek Kasimov, Head of the Asian Sambo Association Alamjon Mulaev, Chairman of the Sambo Association of Uzbekistan Alisher Alimov.
It should be noted that the NOC of Uzbekistan has started practical work on the basis of a memorandum of cooperation with the Russian Olympic Committee. The meeting discussed cooperation on the further development and popularization of SAMBO, the inclusion of this type of martial arts in the program of the Asian Games “Tashkent-2025".
The issue of establishing cooperation with the International Olympic University of Russia and UzGosUFK was also considered at the event. The main task is to exchange scientific literature, work experience with qualified personnel.
The discussion also focused on the issues of joint preparation of the two countries for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, professional development of our representatives in the development of winter and game sports. In this regard, the responsible persons separately touched upon the topic of joint training camps.
