The World Sambo Championship among adults started today in the Yunusabad sports complex in the capital. In the competitions, which are organized for the 46th time in a row, about 400 martial artists from about 50 countries of the world will compete for prizes.

In the competitions, the best are determined by male, female and combat sambo. There are 7 weight categories in each direction — in total, winners and prize-winners in 21 weight categories will be determined. According to the rules of the tournament, on the first day of competition, the best are identified among women in weight categories: up to 50 kg, up to 54 kg and up to 59 kg, among men: up to 58 kg and up to 64 kg, in combat sambo: up to 98 kg and over 98 kg.
