The start of the "President's Cup" in chess has been given
An international chess tournament for prizes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has started at the capital's International Chess Academy.
Before the competition, a press conference was held, which was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan, the referee of the tournament, the famous international judge from Armenia Ashot Vardapetyan, the director of the competition Akhmadjon Erkaboyev and media staff.
In the "President's Cup" the best will be identified among 27 grandmasters from different countries of the world, 16 international grandmasters. It is worth noting that many participants of the competitions are masters of FIDE and masters of sports, which indicates the high authority of the tournament. At the same time, it provides high competition.
The official opening of the tournament was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Avaz Karimov, who opened the international tournament with a symbolic move against 17-time world champion Rustam Kasimdzhanov.
The international tournament is held according to the Swiss system in two stages – the group stage (online) and the final (7 rounds, on the board), as well as the main stage (10 rounds).
Uzbekistan's honor at the tournament is defended by such young and talented grandmasters as Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Nodirbek Yakubbayev, Shamsiddin Vohidov, Jahongir Vohidov, Javokhir Sindarov.
Recall that the total prize fund of the prestigious tournament "President's Cup" is 120,000 US dollars.
