Andrey Abduvaliev: "We have planned at least 12 vouchers and 1 medal for Paris-2024"
A meeting was held with the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks specified in the decree signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the comprehensive preparation of athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXIII Summer Olympic and XVII Paralympic Games held in Paris (France) in 2024". It was attended by the Chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Avaz Karimov, Deputy Chairman of the NOC Sherzod Tashmatov, representatives of the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan headed by Andrey Abduvaliev, athletes and coaches.
First, Andrey Abduvaliev shared a report on participation in Tokyo 2020 and plans to prepare for the Paris 2024 cycle.
“Here we have set ourselves big goals. We planned to get at least 12 tickets to Paris 2024 and 1 medal at the Olympic Games. The resolution signed by the head of our state serves as a program for us to apply it in practice. Also, every 3-6 months we will monitor the results of our athletes, any changes in them”" said the chairman of the Athletics Federation of Uzbekistan.
Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov also shared his opinion on this issue:
"The preparation for the Paris Olympics is completely different from the preparation for Tokyo. My colleagues and I have analyzed in detail the past main starts of the fourth anniversary. The head of our state also supports us in preparing for Paris-2024. And we have to show ourselves worthily at the upcoming important tournaments”"
During the meeting, the head coach of the national team Guzal Hubbieva informed all our athletes applying to participate in the Olympics in Paris about their personal record and the tasks set for them in the new cycle. The head of the NOC talked one-on-one with all our athletes and their coaches. In turn, all our athletes promised to make every effort and achieve their goal.
