Abdumalik Khalakov - vice-world champion!
Our young and promising boxer Abdumalik Khalakov, who made his debut at the World Championship among adults, won a silver medal. In the decisive confrontation, our compatriot entered the ring against an experienced opponent from France.
Khalakov, competing in the weight category up to 60 kg, lost to the Frenchman Sofiane Oumih. The battle between the two owners of high technology and tactics turned out to be brilliant. Of course, this battle for the high title of the world championship has turned into one of the most beautiful confrontations of the tournament. Unfortunately, in the end, our compatriot could not defeat his French opponent, the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Rio.
Thus, at the World Championship ending in Belgrade, our team won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals. Recall, following the results of yesterday's semifinals, Madiyar Saidrakhimov won a bronze award in the weight category up to 92 kg.
