Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov: "We need real fighters who will defend the honor of our Motherland, and coaches who will prepare them"
Today, on the basis of the National Fencing Team, a meeting was held with athletes and coaches with the participation of the chairman of the NOC and the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan Rustam Shoabdurakhmonov. It was attended by representatives of the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan headed by Gulnara Saidova, representatives of the national team and the coaching staff.
The preparation plan for the Hangzhou 2022 and Paris 2024 Games was keenly discussed at the meeting. Questions of the directions of the sword and rapier were taken under criticism. It was stressed that it is necessary to pay special attention to the selection of the National Team on the basis of transparent selection and careful preparation for the upcoming competitions in accordance with the calendar plan published by the International Federation, the organization of continuous training camps.
"Our team needs real fighters who will defend the honor of our Motherland, and coaches who will prepare them. In the future, each international tournament and other events will be strictly monitored. The president supports us, so we must justify our trust with worthy victories. All conditions will be created for this”" Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov said.
Also, the head of the NOC instructed the coaches to monitor the timely rest of the athletes, establish a strict daily routine. Athletes, in turn, were asked to unconditionally follow the instructions of their mentors.
