Representatives of the national team of Uzbekistan left for Spain to participate in the final of the FEI Nations Cup
Uzbekistan's show jumping team went to Barcelona to participate in the finals of prestigious equestrian competitions. Earlier, our team successfully performed at all qualifying international stages of the competition, which were held in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, and among 11 countries of the Eurasian Division won a ticket to the finals.
In the equestrian world, one of the most prestigious competitions after the Olympic Games is the FEI Nations Cup show jumping competition. The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has distributed all national federations according to their location into 7 regions-divisions, in which qualifying stages are held, and only the strongest 18 teams (4 riders in 1 team) receive a ticket to the final of the FEI Nations Cup. The final is held annually in the fall in Spain.
For information, the Nations Cup, one of the oldest equestrian tournaments, has been held in European countries since 1909, and since 1930 the International Equestrian Federation has become its co-organizer. The motto of the Nations Cup, which was invented not so long ago – "National pride, international enthusiasm" perfectly expresses the spirit of this tournament. The name of the Cup of Nations has changed several times: the Queen's Cup, the President's Cup, the Prince Philip Cup.
It should be noted that the most developed of the listed 3 (three) types of equestrian sports in our republic is show jumping, and reaching the final of the FEI Nations Cup for riders of Uzbekistan was a cherished dream. Since the end of 2020, the situation has changed, the National Equestrian Federation of Uzbekistan has joined the newly created Eurasian Equestrian Association, and according to the new rules, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Iran and other countries have joined the participants of international competitions. From April 21 to April 25, 2021, the equestrian club "Universal Jumping Agro" in the Tashkent region hosted international show jumping competitions - FEI Jumping Nations Cup Eurasian League, following which Uzbekistan won 1st place in the team competition.
Bahromjon Gaziyev, Umid Kamilov, Bekzod Kurbanov, Azam Tolibbayev will compete in Spain on behalf of Uzbekistan. Full list of participating countries: Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Great Britain, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and Uzbekistan.
