The Presidential decree will become the foundation in the process of preparing for the Asian Games and the Olympics
Meetings are continuing on the results of Tokyo 2020, preparations for the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The presentation of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan was heard today.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports Avaz Karimov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Sherzod Tashmatov, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Sports of Uzbekistan Bahodir Mahsitov, representatives of the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan headed by Kozima Urinboyhuzhaeva, responsible persons of the RSVSM for winter and complex technical sports.
First, we discussed the participation of our cyclists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the preparation period, and the popularity of this sport. It is worth noting that the 2019 Asian Cycling Championship, which was held in Tashkent, was a big boost in the process of popularizing cycling. Thanks to this tournament, our cyclists have won 2 licenses for the Olympic Games, as well as a number of medals.
Along with the growing popularity and other achievements, the existing problems were discussed. It was noted that in some regions there are no offices, in many areas the material and technical base is not at the proper level, and proposals to eliminate problems were considered.
It should be noted that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of this sport was recently published. The document talks about the promotion of cycling in our country, bringing its development to a new level, creating professional clubs, holding many international tournaments in Uzbekistan and many other important areas. In today's presentation, federation officials noted that in preparation for the competitions in Hangzhou and Paris, work will be carried out in accordance with this Decree.
